Pilot Baptist Church – Abundant Blessings Food Pantry Ministry

Pilot Baptist Church's food pantry ministry supports our community with emergency and supplemental needs.  Our pantry is maintained by donations of non-perishable food items.  While we strive to help meet the physical needs of individuals, we more importantly desire to meet spiritual needs in sharing  the plan of salvation to those who do not know Jesus Christ.  For the believers, we can be a Christian witness and encourage them in their faith.

Ministry Guidlines:

Pilot Baptist Church's food pantry serves as both an emergency and supplemental resource to provide food assistance as a result of short-term hardships (personal loss, fire in home, temporary job loss, etc).  Additionally, there is an increased number of individuals/families who need ongoing supplemental food assistance to help them stretch their grocery dollars. The food pantry's direct service area is within the immediate southeastern part of Franklin County area, though recipients may reside elsewhere in the country or in the close geographical area of adjacent counties (Wake, Nash, Johnston).

Emergency Resources:

Emergency request will be received through the church office through our Crisis Care ministry process following the established guidelines.

Supplemental Resource:

Pilot Baptist Church's food ministry team will host food distribution on the 1st Tuesday night of each month in the Family Life Center Lobby (7:00 – 7:30 p.m.).

Recipients will be requested to complete an intake form that will be used for outreach purposes only.

Generic food bags, based on number in household and pantry availability, will be provided to individuals/families on afirst-come, first-serve basis.

Bags will contain items such as: soups, assorted vegetables, pasta/rice, canned meat, breakfast item (all based on availability)

When available, a "personal choice table" will be open for recipients to select a limited number of items.

How you can help:  Serving families in our community means there is often a great need. Here is a list of most often needed items: Canned Vegetables, Peanut Butter, Rice & Pasta, Instant Potatoes, Cereals, Boxed Dinners hamburger helper, tuna helper, etc.). Donations to support our food pantry are always appreciated.  If you’d like to bring items on any Sunday, you can drop those items in the food bin located in the church hallway (by water fountain).  To arrange delivery of donations outside of church services, please email pbcfoodpantry

If you’d like to volunteer behind the scenes, sorting and bagging food or to take part in many of the face-to-face opportunities, distributing food, please email pbcfoodpantry
